Noorderspel 2006
Half of april there will be some sort of northern gamesday (north as in the north of the Netherlands) which will also feature a 40K tournament (also fantasy..but I don't give a ****). I've been organizing the tournament for 2 years because the year before there was no 40K tournament which we found quite stupid.
This will be the 3rd time organizing and the first time it will be bigger than 400 pts.
It will most likely be a 1000pt tournament with only codex stuff (so no special FW stuff). I don't want to pull it to a 1500pts tourny because even people who aren't busy for very long should be able to participate but I still want people to be able to have a bit of a bigger fight than the combat patrols delivered.
As organizer I probably won't be able to play myself (damnit). Maybe if everyone's busy and someones been 'knocked out' (of the tournament :) ) I can try and devour them, so I WILL bring my nids.
Last year there were about 20 players. I hope that this year's tourney sees an equel amount or even an increase in players.

Well looks like Noorderspel '06 is well and truly underway. I think its a good idea to move up to 1000 points, fairly standard, and its big enough to have some more fun than 400 points, and hopefully they wont drag out for TOO long.
A shame as organizer that you wont be able to play, but hey, bring the 'Nids along and if all goes well, you might be able to eat something at some stage in time.
Alas, best of luck for the event, hopefully this year will see it even bigger and better!!

Gah, I detest 1000 pts. It's hard to make a decent list as you find yourself throwing 'round with power units whilst forgetting that something like that will take up 1/4 of the army......
I'll see what stuff I wil bring... My commandos will be there... and so will the enemies of the Emperor... in their scopes......

well my flying tyrant took up almost 1/5th of the 1000pts.
It was the most expensive unit. Next came the hormagaunts which says enough.
I'm thinking of going either thematic (overdoing teh pwning commando style)
Or going TROOOOOOOPS and "sprinkling" it with leeter units. (dammit what a gay sentence, I hate the uk.forum mods... except for edward)

Just need to find decent pics to fill the right side of the screen. All the pics from Fox of the last two weeks were..... somewhat dissappointing....

Nah, there was a thread about someone using LOTS of troops (almost always 5 troops in 1500 pts...)
and the mod used that comment .....

I don't see the problem in using 5 troops choices in 1500pts.
I use only 4..so what :P
2 hormy squads, 1 spinegaunt sq and the stealers. But I don't think it's sprinkling if you use a 5th or even a 6th. It's just FoC.
IG doesn't have a prob with it either.
Marines..well..you could go all out on troops (I mean choosing 5 or even 6..which may be a bit to much) ..don't know if it's wise..but you could.
I really don't think you got the meaning OR target of sprinkling.
It was sprinkling the leet FA and HS units.
But me as an honest marine I'll RARELY use 4 troops in 1500 points. I might use 4 since I'll have another svout squad ready. But I'm still thinking / trying out.

I just had to do some other stuff yesterday like..going to the Airforce info with Rico, making spaghetti bolognese uberfast and going to an Almanak party and stay in bars till 1.30 am.
So ..that even took my morning away.
And the internet has been on and off today whenever I blinked. Darn @Home.
